An African Initiative Dedicated to Prostate Health
PCCA – Prostate Champions Center in Africa is an initiative promoted by Eagle Africa Association and dedicated to advancing prostate health across Africa.
PCCA seeks to contribute to greater awareness of prostate conditions, strengthen a culture of prevention and support earlier detection of prostate health problems.

Yet prostate-related conditions may remain poorly understood, overlooked or addressed only at a later stage.
PCCA seeks to contribute to changing this situation by placing prevention, health education and awareness at the heart of men’s health.

Our mission
To promote prostate health and contribute to the prevention and early detection of prostate conditions in Africa.
PCCA works primarily through:
- health education and information;
- awareness among men and communities;
- prevention promotion;
- promotion of appropriate early detection approaches;
- referral to qualified healthcare professionals and health facilities;
- mobilization of healthcare stakeholders;
- national and international partnerships.

Promoting awareness of signs and symptoms that may require medical consultation and encouraging appropriate screening approaches in accordance with medical guidance.

Where appropriate, helping guide individuals toward qualified healthcare professionals and health facilities.

Building collaboration among healthcare professionals, institutions, communities, businesses, media and partners.

Understanding the main prostate conditions
PCCA contributes to raising awareness of a range of prostate-related conditions, including:
Benign prostatic hyperplasia
A common condition associated with ageing that may cause urinary symptoms.
Prostatitis
Inflammation of the prostate that can have different causes and requires appropriate medical evaluation.
Prostate cancer
An important men’s health condition for which awareness, prevention and early detection are key areas of public health concern.
Any screening or medical decision should be individualized and discussed with a qualified healthcare professional.

Two complementary initiatives
PCCA is a flagship initiative of Eagle Africa Association. Blue November is one of the Association's major annual platforms for mobilizing communities around men’s health and prostate health.

Together, they help place prostate health within a continuous prevention approach throughout the year.
PCCA internationally
Learning from best practices in prostate health
To strengthen its work, PCCA is developing exchanges with leading healthcare institutions abroad.
As part of this approach, Dr Kossi AHADJI, Executive Director of Eagle Africa Association, met the teams of HCG Cancer Centre and Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Indore (India), including an andrology laboratory team.
These meetings support PCCA’s ambition: sharing experience and expertise to improve the prevention and care of prostate conditions in Africa.
